After injection?: I do not understand your question if you do mean happening at an injection site if injection is missed. If you get an injection and it is red and sore afterwards at the site this is because there is something in the injection that irritates the area for a short period. As you saw it clears. If given as sterile doesn't infect. Applying cold compresses to the area will help, antibiotics will not.
