Not HIV: Sounds like you've excluded HIV, but there are many many other causes of swollen lymph nodes. Pain is good in that it indicates that they are reactive, not malignant. Reactive means they're doing what they're supposed to be doing - fighting infection.

Can move on: The 4th generation ELISA tests for HIV IgM, IgG and p 24 antigen. It will detect HIV 15-20 days after exposure. The HIV RNA PCR viral test will detect infection 5-15 days after exposure. Your tests indicate you don't have HIV. The enlarged lymph nodes seen with HIV are non-tender and occur in the cervical, axillary and inguinal region
