Does taking b12 a week before an intrinsic factor blood test cause a false reading? would it affect a b12 test too?

Depends on the test: The test for intrinsic factor is usually antibody to intrinsic factor and that would not be affected. If the B12 test is measuring the blood level of the vitamin, then that would be affected and yield a higher reading than the baseline, without the B 12 supplement.
