Why do i get occasional sharp pains on both sides of my rib area when i breathe?

Occasional?: If it's just an occasional pain, it's likely just a "muscle stitch" (spasm). It's nothing to be worried about. If it's more than occasional, you should be evaluated - see your family doctor for testing.
