Can treat, not cure.: Early on, most people with beta thal minor have few symptoms,. But don't be fooled! You need regular blood counts, iron levels and exam of the spleen at the very least. The best (perhaps the only) way to "get better" is to get regular check-ups and to avoid taking any supplements that contain iron. People with thal minor can live long, productive lives if they get proper medical care.
