Hi, the skin around my nails are black. its been the case for a few years now. although i'm not a fair complexion, i'm neither a dark complexion.

Good question: there can be many explanations including whether this is inherited from other family members, or whether you have a systemic medical illness. If the pigmentation is only around the nails, a dermatologist may be able to help. discuss this with your physician and if your general health is clean, seeing a dermatologist may be the best way to answer this question
