A member asked:

Sounds like a rainstick/pop rocks and feels like bubbles popping from the base of my skull down while laying still. husband heard as well. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

One For The Books: Ok, you are lying still, but is he? If he is and you aren't moving, then all I can think is that you are still breathing and your stomach is still churning away, either of which could possibly cause those sounds, unless you swallowed a cricket. Now, if those sounds come when you move your neck, that's easy: arthritis. In the lungs, could be some inflammation or fluid and from the stomach maybe gas
