Vaginal rugae: the answer depends on where the tissue is that you want removed. The rugae are folds of tissue or pleats that allow it to expand without tearing. If it is tissue that protrudes from the vagina, it can be removed for cosmetic reasons but within the vagina it is necessary for expansion when it needs to ie. childbirth, intercourse.
