A member asked:

I notice my heart beating when lying down on my bed, but not otherwise. is this in itself a big deal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal: There are many reasons why we hear our hearts when lying in bed and it's very normal to happen. The reasons include: a quiet room, we're not distracted by noises or talk or work. The springs and mattress amplify your heartbeat. When we lie left side down, it's especially prominent because the heart is a left sided structure and closer to the mattress.
