Yes, can be serious: Swelling of the forehead can happen from infection of the frontal sinuses. Recurrent difficulty with frontal sinus infections can be more serious than other sinuses. If you have swelling or tenderness of the frontal forehead region with a sinus infection, should see a physician for examination, possible X-ray, and antibiotics
