Keep at It: Between 7mo-1year baby should be babbling, using speech or non-crying sounds to get/keep attention, using gestures to communicate, imitating different speech sounds (but not necessarily full words). By one year most babies can say 1 or 2 words (hi, dog, dada, mama), although sounds may not be clear. There is always a spectrum of normal so keep working with and encouraging/reinforcing baby.
