Types: Dysthymia - chronic, low grade depression. Major depression - unhappy mood with impaired function in other areas lasting for at least 2 wks. Depression with psychotic features - severe depression with loss of touch with reality bipolar i disorder- depression alternating with mania (way ups & downs) bipolar ii disorder - depression alternating with hypomania (up & down) cyclothymia - sorta ^ & v.
