Most likely: It's not entirely clear what you're asking. The MRI itself should be harmless. Taking Xanax (alprazolam) as prescribed, even with your amitriptyline, should be fine (and help you relax). It's not a good idea to take Xanax (alprazolam) in higher doses or more often than prescribed. Of course, I don't know why you had the MRI in the first place, so I hope you'll be ok from the original problem too. Take care.
