Bone formation: That is not a real commonly used term. Osteogenesis basically means bone formation.osteo means bone, genesis means to create. Osteoblasts are the cells that create bone. So technically, osteoblastogenesis would mean the creation of osteoblasts, but it is probably referring to the creation/ formation of bone.
