Obstruction: There are a lot of nerve endings in the upper airway but when anything gets into the posterior pharynx on down to the larynx, vocal cords, epiglottis and trachea--a strong cough reflex kicks in.

Everytime i jog for a mile or so and i haven't reach a mile i felt like someone is choking me. I felt like my airway got a hand on it.
Last night I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I was choking. My airway felt partially or totally obstructed. I stood up and felt better. At about 11 today, I felt a similar sensation and coughed up mucus. Could this kill me?
