Hi my daughter had head butted me in the nose and as soon as she did there was a popping noise. there was immediate pain redness and slight swelling.

Ouch!: The popping noise could be a separation of the cartillage from the nasal bone or a nasal bone fracture. If your nose looks crooked, or if one nostril is really blocked relative to the other, I recommend having it examined by your doctor, ENT or urgent care. Non-displaced fractures usually heal well without intervention, but if deviated, it should be treated within 2-3 days.
