Ulcer: This depends upon numerous factors; location of ulcer, whether you are Helicobacter pylori positive, whether there are endocrine abnormalities leading to excessive acid secretion, and others. Generally your doctor can sort this out although you may need referral to a GI specialist. The short answer is that this is usually effectively treated and will not persist.
