Catheters: Tough problem. Suprapubic catheters are foreign bodies in the bladder with a connection to the outside world. Frequent catheter changes - at least every 4 weeks, cleaning catheter with dilute hydrogen peroxide and placing neosporin ointment at insertion site several times daily can help. Sometimes antimicrobial catheter irrigations or low dose antibiotics are needed. Talk to urologist about this.
