Rest, ice, brace: Relative rest, ice, and immobilization with a brace for 24 to 48 hours. If still painful then consultation with a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist would be appropriate to determine if further testing, such as x-ray, MRI, or diagnostic ultrasound, would be appropriate.
