A member asked:

My baby is 6 months & 3 weeks old. is it safe to put sunblock on her?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The issue is not so much that the sunblock is "unsafe" for the baby but the concern of your perception that this is all she needs. Baby's skin is very sensitive so even though you may use an SPF 50 sunblock you still need to dress the child in long sleeve, light, breathable clothing, wear a hat and avoid being exposed directly to the sun for long periods between 10 am and 5 pm in the summertime.
