Time: it will take time (weeks) for vitamin D3 to be lowered (months with extremely high blood level ) but the speed varies among people. Since the upper limit in blood is 100 ng, you likely have taken much more than 5000 u daily for awhile to reach a toxic dose. Be sure to avoid anything containing vit D until you recover. After then, take only doses recommended by your doctor.
