Many options: There are many ways to alter the menstrual cycle. Birth control pills are the most common approach. Nuvaring and the patch also work. Depoprovera, Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD and Skyla IUD can be used to lighten or eliminate them. An endometrial ablation can be done in those who have completed child bearing. Lysteda is a non hormonal medication designed to lighten the cycles.
