Menopause?: U don't mention your age. In order to have periods the ovary has to produce estrogen to make a uterine lining grow. A progestin such as primolut, makes the lining mature. After the progestin level falls, the lining sloughs off (a period occurs. It can take a week to 10 days for this to happen. If it hasn't happened at that point, testing is indicated to see if there is a reason for a low estrogen
