R/O CRYPT TRAPPING: Tonsilar crypt trapping can cause chronic tonsillitis And throat pain. you need to have throat cultured and a full panel of blood work. Also potentially ENT CONSULT re laryngoscopy to visualize your anatomy if it is a chronic problem.The firm external sensation may be a secondary enlarged lymph node. Tonsils can regrow with time.
