A member asked:

Gf was told today she has cervicitis. we both have to take azythromycin. she tested(-) for chlamyd/gonnorrhea. why do i need to take a single dose?

Azithromycin for STD: Azithromycin as a single dose is treatment for Chlamydia. If a partner tests positive, it is routine to treat both sexual partners if engaging in unprotected sex. If testing was negative, I am not sure why you were given medication unless MD highly suspected Chlamidia despite negative testing.
