Is diabetes causing strange pain in the hand?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Think Carpal Tunnel: I frequently have patients come to me being told they have diabetic neuropathy in their hands. This is in fact fairly uncommon unless the foot neuropathy is very severe. Think carpal tunnel syndrome instead. This is a very common disorder and can be easily diagnosed with a good physical exam or a nerve conduction study.
