Alternative: Through a proper medical and dental history, your dentist should be able to suggest an alternative antibiotic. This is quite common and should not pose a problem. If you have an infection and your own dentist can't do this, I would suggest you consult with another dentist or your physician.

Other choices: Amoxicillin is not the only antibiotic that is available. Your dentist should be able to prescribe an alternative. If in doubt, please see an endodontist.
