My wife has schizophrenia and is having psychosis, her dr said shes in crisis, should i take her to the er? she is seeing things and crying nonstop

Psych: Definitely worth a call to her psychiatrist. Any recent changes on her meds? The trip to ER would be worth if they have an inpatient psych ward. Otherwise if she is deemed of no significant risk to self harm or harm others chances are she will get released from ER. Sometimes medical conditions may worsen chronic psych conditions and if that is the case she will probably be admitted.
