Follow recs: After a blood clot has resolved in any specific vein, there may be some residual inflammation or even scarring that makes that area a little more susceptible to forming another one in the same spot. Very often, however, subsequent clots form somewhere else. Weight would not have much effect on this. Follow your doctor's recommendations for managing recurrent blood clots including anticoagulant Rx.

Bruise or clot?: Blood clot formation in the arms is uncommon. Could it be there is bruise that forms in the same spot. If it is a bruise, it is likely that you may be bumping that site without realizing the trauma. Being overweight is a risk factor for both bruising and blood clots. Not feasible to provide more meaningful answer without examining the lesion.
