Pain?: Are you saying that she's still complaining of pain? There are other ways of treating pain from tonsillectomies that don't involve narcotics. Both Tylenol (acetaminophen) and Advil (ibuprofen) are good choices. Also, you can ask her doctor to phone in a script for a numbing gargle called viscous xylocaine (lidocaine). However, if you think the pain suggests a complication, she should see her oral surgeon.
