Insect bites: It is unusual to have mosquito bites in cold weather due to the inhospitable environment for their life cycles. Look to other possible insect culprits, such as fleas, bed bugs and even spiders. You may find insects that are only found in your area. To help them resolve, avoid scratching, keep the areas clean with soap and water and use something like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to cut down on itching.
