Muscle Spasm: Muscle spasms in the shoulder muscles can pinch nerves traversing through them causing referred pain. My recommendation would be to take Naproxen twice daily and to have a friend give your shoulder a massage and isolate any musce spasms. If doesn't improve, find a family doctor who does trigger point injections to relieve the palpable spasms.
