A member asked:

Is there a medical explanation for why i get irritable and easily frustrated when hungry? is it tied to how babies get fussy?

Low brain fuel : Hunger is associated with a low blood sugar level which means you have less supply of fuel for mental activities. This leads to irritation and frustration

Predictable variatin: The human system performs best as an integrated machine when it is well rested (good sleep patterns), well nourished, not sick and in a comfortable setting. It performs less well when any of these factors is less than optimal. Brain food is part of it, but the body is more like a mobile blowing in the wind. One part moving influences all the rest.

Diet and caffeine: You may find that your mood is very related to your food. Think about how happy you feel after a great meal. Start recording what you eat and then how long until you get angry. If it is between 10AM and noon then cut back on coffee and change breakfast to eggs or protein. Your ability to function is related to your diet. Healthy eating healthy life.
