No: A stool check is a much better choice. Usually the disease is self-limited unless you're seriously immunocompromised, and there's no reason to test for it.

Cryptosporidiosis: Agree with Dr. Friedlander. Cryptosporidium can be assessed via acid-staining test of stool or biopsied intestinal tissue & enzyme immunoassays for antigens. There is also Cryptosporidium/isospora stool study & Giardia & Cryptosporidum Antigen Panel.
