Migraine: can still be migraines that are poorly controlled. May need to switch medications and get on some preventative medications to abort these.

Status migrainus: An unrelenting headache with associated photophobia, sonophobia and cognitive impairment that does not resolve with a good nights sleep requires further investigation. Migraine is not usually managed with pain medication unless the goal is to induce sleep. Use of abortive treatments like DHE, and triptans may be unsafe (complicated migraine if speech affected) You need a diagnosis / LP / care !

Migraine: Stop puzzling, you have migraine headaches, pure and simple. Why are you on pain medications, as this approach assures more intense and more frequent headaches. Time to see a neurologist.
