Depends on the stage: Chemotherapy is a useful adjunct in the treatment of stomach cancers. However, this depends in part on the stage of the cancer. Cancers that are local and have not spread may be treated with surgical excision. Cancers that are more invasive or have spread to other organs require combined therapy with surgery and chemotherapy and possible radiation therapy.
