son has had epigastric pain for a week and a half with no relief also rlq pain went to hospital found it is retrocecal appendix but nothing done ?

Appendix: They are describing the location of the appendix. If it was enlarged or inflamed the hospital should have recommended removal. If it appeared healthy and was not the cause of his pain the doctor would just make a note of its position. All the best.

I would add screening labs such as a CBC, differential and urinalysis, ESR can be helpful. If the pain continues, then appendicitis remains a possible cause.
