Ativan (lorazepam): Mainly sedation, depends on dose. Also since it is short-acting, tolerance & abuse can develop with continued use.

Ativan harms: I commend you for being concern about harm of taking Ativan. Harms can be: •Developing of Tolerance Same dose does not relieve anxiety leading to taking higher dose and more frequently •Habit Forming- Taking higher dose for many months or longer •Withdrawal symptoms- anxiety, depression, insomnia, restlessness, confusion, irritability, sweating, dizziness, derealization , depersonalization

Ativan: Ativan can be addictive. There is danger of respiratory depression with Ativan is mixed with alcohol.
