A member asked:

Does the stomach absorb food and water differently?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Small intestine: is where the bulk of absorption occurs. The stomach's job is to break down the solids into a slurry that, along with water, will get absorbed by the small intestine. The stomach can absorb water but absorbs very little.
