A member asked:

Do our bodies need milk after infancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and no: Your body needs a reliable source of calcium, fat, protein and fluid to thrive. Bovine milk provides an easy source, but there are many alternatives that would provide all or some of these needs. Since 1/4 adults are intolerant to the lactose in regular milk, many move to low lactose alternatives. The milk industry advertises heavily to sell us on the idea we need it, which is partially true.
