A member asked:

Does your body absorb all the calcium from cows milk?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The body selectively absorbs a portion of what travels through the gut, but not all of any one element like calcium. There are regulatory factors that increase or decrease the amount absorbed at a given time. Poor calcium intake can deplete the system while not all excess intake would be absorbed if body calcium levels were normal.
