A member asked:

Why should you not massage a person's limbs if they are suffering from hypothermia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tissue injury: Massage gives pressure to skin and underlying tissue and when a person's sensation is already compromised by hypothermia, can cause tissue maceration and injury. Also, increasing circulation in the extremities decreases rather than improves central or core temperature, which is important for vital structures.
