Fluid retention: If it is just one leg, then it usually infers something in the leg itself including blood clot, infection, gout, injury, etc. if it is both legs, that usually suggests systemic fluid retention which usually collects first in the legs. Either way, don't hesitate to be seen and accurately diagnosed.
