Premature mortality: there is a NIH sponsored study to predict outcome (mortality and disability) based on baby's gestational age, gender, race and mother receiving prenatal care ( especially steroid course before delivery). The reality; it really varies from case to case. Prematurity has long list of potential complications that can affect short and long term outcome
