Avoid excess sugar: A diet in reduced sugar will help your overall health. Many drinks, such as sports drinks and sports gels contain large amounts of sugar and are not good for your oral and general health.

Smart nutrition: Best choices are cheese, chicken or other meats, or nuts and water. These foods actually may help protect the tooth enamel. Worst choices are candy, cookies, cakes, crackers, breads, muffins, potato chips and sweet drinks.
