Many different kinds: Psychiatrists/psychologists, social workers, licensed alcohol (and drug) counselors (LADCs) all can have training and experience in drug and alcohol counseling, but not all do. Some counselors are more "experientially" credentialed through their own recovery or that of a family member, but most of them now are required to have some academic credentials, such as a degree or certification.
