C-section.: your physician should have given you instructions on discharge from the hospital concerning resumption of intercourse. Generally, it is recommended that you wait about 6 weeks after delivery to resume intercourse. Practically, whenever you feel you will not cause yourself pain. Resumption of periods is individual and depends on breastfeeding, and other factors, sometimes taking a year.
