Go with the U/S scan: By LMP, estimate conception date as Feb 6, for 28-day cycles. By ultrasound scan, estimate conception date as Jan 9. In such a case, the U/S scan is correct, which means the January 23rd "period" was not really a normal regular period, but was vaginal bleeding associated with early pregnancy. However, if one had sex ONLY around Feb 6, and not prior to that, one can ask the doctor to check the U/S.
