Unfortunately: Many things can contribute to the sensation of hunger beyond nutrient levels/signals. In fact, any form of stress to the body can seem to stimulate the appetite, which is likely some of the mechanism behind "emotional eating". If you look closely at those days, where you are exceptionally hungry, you may readily be able to identify factors that contribute to why your appetite is like it is!
