A member asked:

Sharp, unilateral outer thigh pain occurring only at night? pain is so bad it often wakes me up & nothing relieves the pain. (23 y/o active female)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Positional: This discomfort appears to be very positional and suggests a nerve entrapment in the spinal area or a location where the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve enters the thigh. A neurologist would be best qualified to evaluate and advise you and order any appropriate tests like MRI or EMG.
